Good Job Theo

As critical as I am with regards to the Boston Red Sox, I also have to give credit where credit is due. Most media outlets are reporting that the Red Sox will sign Daisuke Matsuzaka for 6 years, $52 million with incentives potentially making the deal 6 for 60. Wow. What a bargain.

Sure, you can say he hasn't pitched in the majors yet, and you'd be right....but look at my favorite trash pitcher who signed last week, Gil Meche (A cool $11 million per year). Think about that for a second. Gil Meche, for more money than a guy who was lights out in the World Baseball Classic and who has a pitched called a "gyroball" or something like that.

What a coup by the Red Sox. If you factor in the marketing possibilities and call the $51 million posting fee a cost-neutral proposition, the fact that they wound up w/ at max, a $10 million a year contract is simply amazing.

No longer is Theo bending over for Scott Boras (JD Drew), it appears that they're perhaps just taking turns with each other. Oh well, its not my ass. Good job Theo.

(Now pass the freakin physical).

oh and from now on its "Dice-K." I'm not typing out his whole name. Thanks.
