New Years Bowl Game - Daily Picks

Thanks to the U for allowing a back-door cover last night, bowl picks fall to 10-11 on the bowl season now.

Full slate of games today, so lets get to it.

Outback Bowl: Penn State vs Tennessee -3.5

There is no secret I hate the Big 10 and love the SEC, but I don't think this is a pick with my heart, its with my head. Penn State stinks. I think Tennessee easily covers this one.

Cotton Bowl: Nebraska vs Auburn -1.5

Again, SEC here. Auburn lost to Arkansas who won the SEC West and lost to Georgia late in the year, and Georgia upset Va Tech the other night. Auburn can stop the pass and that's what Nebraska does best. Auburn -1.5 here.

Gator Bowl: West Virginia -9.5 vs Georgia Tech

Reggie Ball somehow got himself ineligible for a bowl game. Yeah a Senior starting Quarterback. In a bowl game. On New Years Day. that's pitiful. WVU is the pick here.

Capital One Bowl: Wisconsin vs Arkansas -2.5

This is my worst pick of the day. You just don't know what Wisconsin has because their schedule is way worse than some MAC teams. I think Arkansas may want this one more - to send a message that their year wasn't a fluke. Arkansas -2.5 is the play.

Rose Bowl USC-1 vs Michigan

Wolverines win this one. It may be the Big 10's only big win of the bowl season.

Fiesta Bowl: Boise State vs Oklahoma -7

Boise is a great story, it really is. But they don't have enough talent to play with Oklahoma, a team who would have national title hopes were it not for a terrible call in Oregon.
